DRI
Digital Retinal Imaging is a tool used to capture a photo of the inside of your eye (the retina). It allows your optometrist an excellent view of the vessels, optic nerve, and macula (central vision) to ensure the health of your eyes. It helps detect dozens of eye conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and more.

We are excited to now offer DRI as a part of your routine eye exam at no additional cost.

OCT
Optical Coherence Tomography is a 3D scan of the layers of tissue that make up the back of the eye (the retina). Through this advanced technology, your optometrist can see not just the front layer of the retina but all the layers of nerve tissue and vasculature required for healthy vision. Since the OCT uses light to map the retina, obtaining these detailed scans is easy, comfortable, and takes just a few minutes.

A baseline scan is recommended for all our patients 30 years or older. It is especially recommended for patients with a family history of eye diseases such as macular degeneration or glaucoma. It may also be recommended by your optometrist for various reasons, such as assessing the health of the eyes after cataract surgery, or if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, retinal problems, headaches, floaters, flashes of light, high glasses prescription, reduced vision, macular degeneration, or are taking certain medications.

The Optical Coherence Tomography scan costs only $70* and can be used to monitor for changes over time.

Visual Field Test
Our Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer is a tool to detect defects in central or peripheral vision. It helps your optometrist make sure you see everywhere you should be, for example, your far left and right while driving and your central area while reading. It may also detect and monitor certain eye conditions like glaucoma or retinitis pigmentosa, or monitor the eyes' health if you are taking certain medications.

A Visual Field test may be recommended by your optometrist, or it may be required by MTO for professional drivers or those with certain eye conditions. Depending on the type of test required, the cost of visual field testing ranges from $40 to $95*. In some cases, this test may be covered by OHIP.

Our On-site Lab
We’re proud to offer you the excellent service of our on-site lab. Instead of ordering lenses cut at a factory, we cut and shape our lenses in-house to make sure they’re just right. Every lens that leaves our lab is examined, measured, and verified by one of our licensed opticians. This makes sure lenses are free of any manufacturing defects, are made to the prescription your Optometrist recommends, and are centred precisely within your chosen frame.

Insurance Submission
Tackling submission to private insurance, NIHB, ODSP, or OW can be intimidating. We have a dedicated insurance department to help you with the process. In most cases, we can submit glasses and eye exam costs to your insurance provider electronically and receive confirmation in just a few seconds. Most insurance providers will also pay us directly, meaning you only pay any amount that exceeds your coverage. For the insurance providers that take a little longer or require additional steps, we’re still happy to help you navigate the insurance submission process, including if you are covered by multiple insurance plans.
